"Singing Yeast" features humming, singing, and ultimately screaming yeast. It is a four-part collaborative composition called The Dark Side of the Cell created by nanoscientist Andrew Pelling and media artist Anne Niemetz. I found the experiment otherworldly, and not a little unsettling. Very heavy geekiness and worthy of something equal to it, perhaps a rich Belgian strong pale, like Delirium Tremens.
These are Real Player audio files. There are videos as well! I use Movavi, plays almost all the codecs, and works great on a Mac. These recordings were made between 2002-2004. The site is fascinating. The Source is here:
